24-Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring

A 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring test allows the cardiologist to understand clearly how a patient’s blood pressure changes throughout the day and night, giving a far more accurate picture than a single clinic reading.

01Why It’s Done

Dr Lee may recommend this for patients with:

  • Confirming a diagnosis of hypertension
  • Assessing “white-coat” high blood pressure
  • Fine-tuning blood pressure medication

02How It Works

  1. A blood pressure cuff and a small portable machine are fitted.
  2. Readings are taken automatically at regular intervals for 24 hours.
  3. You go about your normal daily activities and sleep.
  4. The results are reviewed by the cardiologist.

03Duration, Recovery & What To Expect

The cuff and monitor are worn under clothing for one day. There is no downtime.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not just check blood pressure in clinic?

A single reading can be misleading. 24-hour monitoring captures your true average and how pressure behaves day and night.
